ROUTINE FOOTCARE

Routine Footcare

This is a very popular treatment for those that just want to keep their feet in good shape.  The feet are wiped over before treating with a lavender infused foot bath soak, after which nails are cut and filed, general tidy of sulcus and cuticle area and removal of corns and callus.  Treatment is finished with a foot cream massaged in (cream used dependant on condition of feet).

Corn treatment
There are a variety of corns with the most common ones being hard and soft corn. The hard corns appear as small, concentrated areas of hard skin up to the size of a small pea usually within a wider area of thickened skin or callus. Soft corns which are whitish and rubbery in texture and appear between toes, where the skin is moist from sweat, or from inadequate drying.

Callus
A callus is an extended area of thickened skin often found on the soles of the feet and occurs on areas of pressure. It is the body's reaction to pressure or friction and can appear anywhere that the skin rubs against a bone, a shoe or the ground. A callus on the sole of the foot is often likened to 'walking on a stone' and can be very painful.

WE CAN ALSO HELP WITH

Diabetic footwear

It is imperative that diabetics have routine foothealth checks.  They are prone to nerve damage causing neuropathy (loss of feeling) and blood circulation problems which will affect the healing process.  Routine 6 weekly footcare is recommended.

Ingrown toenails

An ingrown toenail is where the nail has grown into the sulcus, this in turn can become very painful and infected.  At the first sign please seek treatment.

Foot creams and socks

We have a wide range of footcreams in clinic by Dermatonics and Gehwol and happy to advise which cream would be the most beneficial to your condition. Creams range from £6 to £10.

We also have a selection of Cotton, Bamboo and Diabetics socks at a very reasonable cost of £7 for 3 pairs.
